Saints Row 2 VS Saints Row 3

There are many differences between Saints Row 2 and Saints Row 3! When making Saints Row 3, Volition had to rewrite the entire engine, meaning although the character creation is better, it is lacking many great options that were available in Saints Row 2.

Saints Row 2 has the better character creator for options such as clothing and jewelry/accessories, as there are many different "styles". This means a shirt for example can be worn in different ways including open, closed, tucked into trousers. It is very easy to mix and match clothing to create the look you want, which makes customization really easy! You can also layer items, meaning you can wear any shirt or coat on top of an undershirt.

Here is an example of the clothing in Saints Row 2. This is my character Alex and he is wearing the Saints' colour purple.

However, the character creator in Saints Row 3 has better face creation, making better looking characters who look more like what you picture in your head. Although the face options is excellent, the body option is quite poor as all the characters are very muscular. There is no way to make characters who look very skinny or fat, which was very easy to do in Saints Row 2. Also, the clothing options in Saints Row 3 are very poor as the choices are limited and you cannot layer clothing.

Here is the same character as above (Alex). This is his face in both Saints Row 2 and Saints Row 3. It is clear to see that his face is much better in Saints Row 3 and looks completely different.
